Movement Source is off to an exciting start for our 2016-17 season!

We began the season by working with Brad Garner from Oregon - creating "Shrine" premiered on October 8th, 2016 at the Arizona Dance Festival at the Tempe Center for the performing arts!

We welcome our talented company members back this season who bring fabulous energy to our audiences. We also welcome new company member, Krystle Aguilera! See her bio on our company bio section of our site. We will be doing lots of community outreach this season including workshops/residencies for the Scottsdale Prevention Institute, and Phoenix Dayschool for the Deaf. We love dancing and teaching in our community! We appreciate the support of Scottdale Cultural Council, Scottsdale League for the Ars, Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture and Arizona Commission on the Arts in making these programs possible!

We are also launcing a second season of our new program for dance mentorship! "Guidance" will connect young dancers in our community who are serious about dance as a career with professional dancers as mentors! We are so excited to see the relatioships blossom and see our young dancers move with confidence and excitement into productive joyous lives of dance. This year's mentor program includes Chad Michael Hall from California. We appreciate the support of AZDEO for this program. In collaboration with ASU Beyond series, we were also able to offer the guiDANCE program to a student from Xavier College Prep connecting with Ana Maria Alvarez and dancers from Contra Tiempo in November!

We welcome back our awesome board members; Kelly Zahoudanis (Nourish), Baron Gordon (Artist), Dave Hafner, Dr. Charlie Smith, Attorney Scott Harris, CPA Steven Pace, and Dorothy Alexander Pace!

We are exploring the theme of BE. HERE. NOW.  Looking at how we can be present and fully experience the adventure and journey of life through the art of dance. We are so lucky to have creative video artist, Stephen Perry continuing creating a documentary on the dance company as we enter our 29th season of work in Arizona. We are so appreciative of his support and artisitc vision. We also greatly value our photographers, Robin Silver and Paul Markow who support our work with thier generous artistry. We greatly appreciate YOU - our friends, family, patrons, students and audience members. This performance is slated for March 17th 8 pm and March 18th 2 pm and 8 pm 2017 at Changing Hands Bookstore/Newton in Phoenix! 12.00 at the door!

Join us now through March for open company classes at our home, Dance Theatre West on Indian School and 4oth street. Class is only 10.00 and an hour long at 6:30 on Monday nights - a great way to start the week! Come share the creative and positive energy Movement Source offers!
